The club has achieved huge growth over the past year which is a result of the fantastic recruitment drive to develop and bring in amazing swimmers into our Academy and Development Squad. <br>Our Academy structure allows us to follow the Swim England Club Awards. Led by coach Paul Nixon, the Academy has gone from strength to strength. Through our links with our Partner, Everyone Active, our aim is to build training and coaching opportunities in those swimming lessons. Achieving success in all areas of competition, from Northumberland &amp; Durham (Counties), North East Regionals, English and British Championships, the club was also successfully promoted to the Premier Division within the North West &#8220;Arena&#8221; League in 2023. Our swimmers also compete at The Junior League \u201cDiddy League\u201d, where we have seen progress in the club&#8217;s placing over the past 2 years &#8211; from 4th in 2022 to 3rd in 2023, and hopefully exciting opportunities in 2024. MASC received the coveted Tom Randall Trophy at the 2024 N&amp;D Championships, for achieving first place in the Age Group Points for ages 10-14 years old. We have around 200 competing and training members, including our growing Academy.&nbsp; <br>Unlike a number of clubs in the area we believe that swimming should be for everyone, and alongside our dedicated competitive squads we offer an Competitive Development Squad, which supports those looking to return to swimming, take a break from competitive swimming, or just those who want to maintain their skills and retain the social aspects of their chosen sport.&nbsp; Alongside Academy this is one of our biggest growth areas and represents an inclusive and dynamic approach to being part of a competitive swimming club. <br>Our Masters squad is a vibrant community of many different ages and abilities, and many of our masters swimmers are coaches from the satellite clubs. This has been a fantastic place for coaches to share ideas and celebrate successes.&nbsp;The coaching team is made up of 5 Lead Coaches, several Level 1 qualified coaches who assist squads, 10+ swimming teachers, and aquatic helpers who support the Academy and Development squads. Mentoring and group CPD work will bring this group better experiences and build a strong coaching staff. <br>Finally, if you would like to get involved, please let one of us know.
