Arena League

Arena sponsor a prestigious National Swimming Tournament which is split into several competing areas across the country “The Arena League”. The club winners of each area go into a national final.

The Northeast area does not compete in this competition hence Middlesbrough ASC has had to compete in the closest area, which for us, is the the Northwest Divisions. The Northwest Divisions comprise of three divisions and a Premier Division.

The competition itself is very similar in structure to the Diddy League, with swimmers competing in two rounds and a final, at venues based in the Northwest. The venues the club has previously swam at are Darwen (near Blackburn) and Ellesmere Port.

Each round consists of individual events and relays and includes swimmers between the ages of 9 to adults. Points are allocated in each race based on finishing position, with the club with the most points being the winner.

Middlesbrough ASC in 2022 joined the Northwest league in Division 2 and after successive league titles are now poised and excited to enter the Northwest Premier League in 2024.
